Cadar bercorak

Masih lagi dalam mood pembuatan cadar. Rasanya 2 bulan kebelakangan ini adalah paling banyak saya buat cadar, baik cadar tempahan mahupun cadar sendiri.Saya pantang jumpa kain cantik. Kalau jumpa mesti beli, buatnya kemudian. Sebab kalau ditunggu fabrik nya dah tiada didalam stok. Kadang-kadang kain yang saya beli tujuannya buat cadar tapi mungkin jadi projek lain juga.

Cadar "munga-munga"

It's really fun working with something sweet and beautiful". Tema fabrik kali ini adalah berbunga-bunga, sesuatu yang manis, berwarna merah jambu dan ringkas. Sesuatu yang feminin khusus untuk anak remaja.

Kenapa handmade sedangkan ada banyak produk yang sama di pasaran? Mungkin ada konsep dekorasi sendiri supaya cadar sama dengan konsep dekorasi bilik. Boleh pilih mahukan bantal satu, bantal 2 ataupun bantal 1 dan bolster 1. Bagi saya pemilihan fabrik cadar yang sesuai memang mampu menaikkan seri ruang. Cadar terutamanya daripada fabrik kain kapas memang sangat berbaloi selain selesa.

Sarung tilam baby (Baby crib)

Projek ini merupakan projek untuk  unborn baby pada masa tu. Sarung tilam baby ataupun baby crib. Kain menggunakan corak cat in the hat,..berwarna biru. Projek simple saja. Produk ini dijahit sendiri kerana pada masa tu tidak jumpa sarung tilam bayi yang sesuai. Terbeli sarung tilam untuk play pen. Alih-alih tidak muat kerana saiz yang jauh berbeza. Kebetulan sudah beli kain yang bercorak kartun, jahit sahaja. Lagipun ia berbeza dengan kebanyakan sarung dipasaran yang menggunakan latar belakang berwarna putih.

Cadar "little mushroom"

Fabrik  mushroom ini saya beli di Fabric Fanatics. Jujurnya, saya terbayang -bayang cerita smurf bila membeli fabrik ini. Sebabnya smurf ni duduk dalam rumah cendawan. Ala...kartun kiut untuk generasi dulu-dulu. Bukan macam kartun sekarang yang banyak lawan-lawan.

So, saya campurkan fabrik japanese cotton dengan fabrik biru ikea untuk mendapatkan hasil yang lebih menarik dan menjimatkan kos. Memandangkan fabrik cendawan tu agak mahal iaitu RM40 per yard. Tak sampai pun 1 meter. Tapi disebabkan hati dah berkenan & orang yang menempah pula gemarkan warna biru, jadi ku teruskan jugak konsep ini.

Cadar rama-rama

Cadar rama-rama yang agak "girlish" ini untuk anak kawan saya. Daripada mula  konsep rekabentuk terpulang pada saya. Fabrik yang saya beli di Fabric Fanatics agak sesuai dengan konsep rama-rama. Jadi saya mula mendapatkan template rama-rama daripada internet dan besarkan saiznya mengikut bentuk yang saya mahu.

Red Velvet Bed Sheet

Bukan kek sahaja yang ada nama red velvet, saya pun teringin nak namakan cadar ni red velvet. Asalnya kawan hanya minta dibuatkan cadar ropol yang kosong. Tapi saya teringin pula nak menambahkan sulam ditepi-tepinya dan renda yag ringkas. Saja, untuk menambahkan seri.

Set ini saya buat cadar saiz  Queen,  bersama dengan 2 sarung bantal saiz standard. Ada sulam ringkas ditepi ropol bantal. Manakala  cadar ini nya pula atas permintaan rakan saya buat labuh jadi tak nampaklah bawah katil. Fabrik pula favourite daripada IKEA iaitu DITTE berharga 9.90 semeter.

So...enjoy the picture dengan warna yang merah menyala-nyala ni yer.

Something personal

This is something personal I've made for the boys. Definitely not for sale, because I'm respected the patent right/trademark.It just my translation on the view of "Chelsea" logo.

This project used all the DITTE fabric from IKEA. DITTE  blue for the sheet based, red for the flower and ball and white for the piping. DITTE price is RM9.90 per/metre currently at IKEA.

britten number sheet

This is my latest design of the bedsheet. It is queen size and made from  britten number fabric which is every body favourites like flowery barbro. This simple fabric shouldn't be decorate excessively. So, I put only  black piping as decoration. This set comprise of four standard pillow cover and a bolster cover. Britten number fabric price is RM9.90 p/mtre.

I  managed to get my cat, atan to pose with the bedsheet. He is in love with the camera and not  shy.  I  chosed him as model beside of the other two cats abu and tina because his fur colour is similar with the fabric,which is black and white.

flowery fitted sheet

This is for a friend's  teenage daughter. Barbro fabric is  everybody favourites.  It is sunny, flowery and happy fabric. Unfortunately it was produced  for  limited edition. To give some barbro touch to a  friend I put applique concept to the fitted sheet. The blue fitted sheet is using DITTE fabric pricing at RM12.90 p/metre. 

For the pillow, I'm  using full Barbro fabric with 2 layers of ruffle.  First ruffle is yellow in colour, while the  second ruffle is blue. I'm thinking of  pink ruffle instead of yellow, however the looks will not be so bright. It will be quite dimmed. Then to give more bright looks and contrast with the blue bedsheet I decided to use yellow.

Single Bed Cum Sofa

This is quite challenging project in terms of how to transform single bed sheet  look alike a sofa. The story was like this...my friend put her single bed at the living room, because it was the favourite jumping spot for her children. Then she's got an idea on how to make at least the single bed is not look alike a bed in the middle of living room but more look alike  a sofa. She searching the suitable single bed sheet at the shop, but of course it looks like a typical bedsheet. 

When she come to me I proposed to combine this black and white stripe fabric (japanese cotton) with the britten number fabric. To make it more like a fabric for sofa I sew black lace as a binding tape and sew 3 wooden button.

Boys fitted sheet

This project begin with a set of pillow. My friend attracted with the pillow set that I made before. So, she proposed to make it fitted sheet. It was quite tedious, since the measurement   must  correct and the patches must be at the suitable place. However I think the result is awesome. It fills the room with the character.  

Actually the blue navy sheet can be replaced with red or black fabric. Maybe I will do it first for my children as a sample.
It is in Queen size+ 1 bolster + 4 standard pillow casing.

Pink Ruffled Set Sheet

Here is the pink ruffles set in queen size I sew for a friend. This set come together with four standard pillow covers and  bolster.
I combined plain pink cotton with the flower motifs fabric. The sheet consist of two layers ruffles. 
While for the pillow cover I put ruffles at the corner, both at right and left side. For bolster cover I put ruffles at the middle of the bolster. It looks like bolster wearing skirt to me.

Super size pillows

This pillow I called super size because the measurement was 92cm width and 48cm length. I did some research on wiki to know the measurement of pillows. Actually I didn't know that there is a pillow with this kind of size, but my friend told me that  this size was put on sale at Metrojaya. Using feather for filling...so it is quite expensive. Maybe I should go and check.
I sew this pillow for a friends nephew. He is quite a big size and prefers big pillows. So I decided to use this size for him and chose the fabric of pillowcase a combination of  plain  blue and colourful stripes.

Black Polka Dot Pillows

This project for a friend that admired simplicity. I never thought of using children fabric motifs in adult project. However, she said she wanted something that was not too loud. So, combination of black polka dot sewing with  the black and white fabric maybe the best. Although, prior than that I tried to combine red polka dot. It make the look was too contra. 


Pillows and casing are in standard sizes.

Green Polka Dot Pillows

I  combined green polka dot fabric with green flowery fabric and the result  was  quite awesome. Actually green is not the favourite colour option. But a friend of mine chosed  that flowery fabric. It was quite a rare option, but I found it beautiful. I suggest  her to buy green plain sheet from TESCO to complete the set.The casing is in standard size.
