Sudah selesai cara-cara membuat cadar fitted sheet pada 2 minggu lepas mari kita tengok pula bagaimana hasilnya. 

Dah siap pun, dah boleh pakai pun.  Saje je saya gunakan 2 tona berbeza iaitu putih dan biru tetapi corak cadar sama. Macam baju lain & kain lain. Jahit sendiri macam-macam corak boleh dipraktikkan.

Ini merupakan pandangan belakang daripada sarung bantal tersebut. Setiap sarung bantal di HomeSewingDesign dilengkap kan dengan zip supaya tidak mudah tercabut.

Bantal peluk pun dibuat dengan konsep yang sama iaitu mengelakkan tercabut, saya pasang zip. Bantal peluk yang sarungnya selalu sangat terkeluar sebab tali pengikat diatasnya suka tercabut.

Mudah...tak perlu selalu pasang balik.

Sarung bantal taska

Ini merupakan posting yang pertama bagi tahun 2017. Permulaan tahun mendapat tempahan sarung bantal dan bantal bagi anak-anak taska.

Job yang ringkas tapi berulang kali kerana perlu membuat dalam kuantiti yang banyak. Saiz bantal adalah  18 inci lebar x 12 inci panjang. Batang bantal menggunakan kain belacu kerana tahan lasak.

Fabrik kuning bermotifkan kereta manakala fabrik merah jambu bermotifkan bunga itu saya beli di Thewah bertempat di pasaraya Ole-Ole Seksyen 18. Warga Shah Alam mesti tahu.

Tujuan adalah  untuk kanak-kanak lelaki berwarna kuning manakala merah jambu untuk kanak-kanak perempuan. Saya selesa menggunakan fabrik untuk dibuat cadar kerana bidangnya luas iaitu 90 inci, lembut dan juga tidak berbulu bila dibasuh.

Ini adalah merupakan posting terakhir bagi tahun 2016 ini. Tahun yang penuh dengan cabaran dan juga merupakan tahun ke 6 HomeSewingDesign beroperasi. 

Posting pada kali ini  adalah merupakan sarung bantal kanak-kanak yang dibuat khusus kerana ada nama pada sarungnya . Tak boleh share yea!

Kebelakangan ini saya menggemari nuansa warna yang berwarna cerah. Jadi banyak palet fabrik  berwarna cerah yang ada didalam simpanan saya.

Asalnya sarung bantal untuk adik fabrik merupakan pilihan saya kerana si adik masih berstatus "toddler". Kakak juga ada citarasa yang tersendiri apabila memilih fabrik bermotif singa dan gajah berwarna oren. Jangan sangka kanak-kanak tiada taste!

Bantal kitar semula

Disebabkan saya adalah pengusaha apa-apa saja yang berkaitan dengan bantal, maka projek kitar semula saya juga adalah bantal juga.

Set sofa ni saya beli 13 tahun lepas.  Sofanya dah tak boleh guna. Selain daripada spring yang dah melendut-lendut, span sofanya pun dah berderai keluarkan habuk. Tak bagus untuk orang yang ada anak kecil macam saya. Jadi saya selamatkan bantalnya yang masih elok untuk dibuat toto mini. Boleh juga jadi "port" untuk budak-budak ini menonton tv. Saja pilih warna hitam supaya tak mudah nampak kotor.

Ok...dah ada tukang rasmi.

Untuk 3 biji  bantal memerlukan 3 meter kain. Boleh juga di cuba jika nak selamatkan bantal-bantal lama, ataupun kalau malas buat ..tempah aje dengan saya..😇

Kain bedung@ Receiving blanket

Bila menjahit kain bedung ni teringat zaman 10 tahun dulu, semasa excited nak menerima anak pertama. Memang kurang pasti apa yang perlu dibeli dahulu. Dalam kepala teringat nak beli baju je. Diam-diam ibu mertua buatkan kain bedung daripada flanel dan juga barut baby. Mungkin juga  bedung dan barut saiznya agak kecil di pasaran.

Cerita kali ni pasal kain bedung baby.  Nak mudah beli aje kain lampin anakku lepas tu bedung. Tapi customer ni memang nak saiz yang besar supaya nanti beli baby dah besar sikit boleh jadi selimut. Baby biasanya dah sebulan tu memang tak boleh duduk diam, tangan keluar, kaki keluar. Sekejap je dah terlerai. 

Err, bear tu hanya props yea. Tengah duduk dengan selesanya diatas kain kapas putih yang nak dibuat bedung tu.

Fabrik putih saya tambahkan piping tepi supaya lebih berseri. Lebar dan panjang adalah dalam 1 meter supaya boleh dijadikan selimut bila baby sudah besar sikit.

Sarung bantal kanak-kanak

Projek kali ini merupakan sarung bantal untuk adik dan abang. Menggunakan tema kartun yang sama iaitu monyet cuma warna background jer lain-lain, satu warna  merah dan satu lagi warna hitam.

Ini merupakan projek awal-awal yang saya buat dahulu menggunakan fabrik kanak-kanak daripada IKEA.  Dah bertahun 3 tahun rupanya. Warna masih sama, tidak luntur cuma agak lusuh sedikit.

Kebanyakan projek awal saya adalah menjahit sarung bantal. Kenapa sarung bantal? Kerana ia merupakan asas dan agak mudah bagi saya. 

Setiap kelahiran anak saya menjahit bantal dan juga  sarungnya. Amalan ini mengingatkan saya kepada arwah makcik. Setiap kelahiran anak saudaranya mesti ada set bantal sulam bunga ros yang disulam atas kain kapas warna putih. Setiap kali lepas balik sekolah petang-petang saya biasa melihat arwah menyulam. Tapi saya tak minat masa tu, baik saya baca majalah ataupun tidur.
Saya berasal daripada Perak, saya tak pasti itu tradisi orang Perak ataupun memang hobi makcik bagi bantal free pada baby. 

Kita biasa baca artikel tentang makanan, makanan yang sekarang orang tak berapa tau buat ataupun dah terhidang tapi tak kenal pun. Saya ada buat kuih lama beberapa kali macam kuih cara (yg ada gula dkt tengah tu), tapi anak saya tak nak makan. Buat wajik tak jadi. Pulutnya sikit. Kuah gula terbanyak. Kuih sum-sum kegemaran arwah ayah. Tepung beras diwarna kan merah jambu dan dikelilingi air gula. Sekarang pun belum buat.  Budak-budak sekarang lebih selera pada lasagna, spaghetti, pizza, kentang goreng dan roti. Adakah pola pemakanan telah berubah. Ada orang kata sebab mak kat rumah tak buat, jadi anak tak biasa makan. Tapi kalau dah buat tapi tak makan?

Ok..lupakan bab makanan, sebab ini blog jahitan. Agaknya apa amalan orang dulu-dulu berkenaan jahitan ini yang makin lama makin pupus. Amalan bagi kain batik saya rasa saya buat lagi. Siap jahitkan sekali.

Bagi yang tiada fabrik boleh juga menempah menggunakan fabrik saya. Harga dijamin berpatutan.Ada juga yang menempah sarung bantal 4 segi untuk dijadikan buah tangan perkahwinan kepada tetamu. Saya terlupa nak ambil gambarnya untuk diupload ke dalam blog.

Ball pillows

A year before I made this racing car design. First I made for the children bedding. The fabric I used is Ditte from Ikea. I loved Ditte fabric range because the plain fabric can made you experiment and test your design skills.

Few friends like the design and asked me to do bedsheet. So, I make 2 bedsheet . 1 fitted sheet and 1 more with the skirting.

 Ball's  pillow set 
This is my latest design which is specially  made for boys. I used zig zag stiches   to sew  
around the  ball's appliqué shape.

Bolster : 56 cm width x 80 cm length.

Filing inside the pillow is kekabu.

Ruffle Pillow

First, I make the flowery ruffle bolster. Then there is a request for a ruffle pillow head. Then a request for a sheet. The beauty is because the fabric itself...flowery fabric call Barbro.  Sell at IKEA. However I managed to grab 3 meters only, I wish I should buy more. According to sales person this fabric only sold during summer. One time and enough. Even Malaysia only have rainy and hot season and currently haze, but we still follow this summer concept.
Enough with the weather forecast. Because of the fabric looks and orders made by a friends with a feminine taste I made ruffle, not only 1 but 2 layers. I simplified the design because for me the fabric itself is very beautiful. The additional applique or lace is not necessary. The design will look very busy with those additional technique.

Flowery ruffled bolster

This is the for the 5 year old friend's daughter. I imagined something  feminine and soft.The flowery fabric is my new collection and I  and matched it with the plain yellow and white  fabric to make the ruffles.

For the furnishing I sew  ruffles  around  the bolster cover. 3 at the end of left and right and 2 ruffles at the middle of the bolster.

Measurement : 56cm width x 80 cm length

strawberry bolster

A friend of mine asked me to design a bolster that suits her 10 months daughter. Her daughter likes hugging something while sleeping. She's having difficulties to find the size, whether it just too small which is suitable for the newborn or just too big. I thought that this size will suits the the baby or at least until she become toddler. So, settled with the size. For the cover, I combined plain red fabric with the fabric that have small strawberry motifs. Then I sew strawberry shape to the red plain fabric.

Car In a row

I sew this 6 cars in a row for my friend's son. So, now days I found that boys already have a  taste. My own son at the age of 5 not in favour of cartoon any more. He likes more mature thing such as  car. Of course he likes ultraman, but I didn't know how to patch ultraman. He also in favour of angry bird, but I'm worried about copyright issues.
So, after having this pillow for a while..the little boy request for a bolster cover.

car and trucks pillows set

The project was for the friend's son. I combined 2 fabric motifs to get result that I wanted. I cut   trucks and car fabric and sew it in the middle. To avoid the casing look empty, I placed the motorcycle motifs in a round shape at the corner of the casing. I hoped it suits the boy.

I made pillow for children age 2-7 years old. The fillings of my handmade item is "kekabu".

The pictures below is the  sample.  The design is based on the availibility of the fabric, colour and motifs preferred as well as gender. Basically, the measurement of the pillows and the casing are as follows:

Car pillow set  for boys

 A friend of mine asked me to sew pillow set for her three old son. I picked blue fabric with car and motorcycle motifs which I think  is suitable for his age. Then I patch 2 cars for the head pillow and 4 cars for the bolster. To increase the affect, I put more detailing in yellow and red lining around the car shape.

 I hope he's happy and have sweet dream every night.

Hippopotamus set

The set is for both (boys and girls). I mixed green and red hippopotamus fabric. One of the pillowcase I cut and patch the white hippo to the white fabric. Maintain the red lining to give contra look.

 Giraffe ride  a strawberry car

This was one of my early design. It took me few days just to sew this project. The giraffe parts was easy, however the white borders quite  difficult because the fabric was stretchable. However I feel happy because my friend like it. She is a fan of  red, so I tried to put that colour  in this design. This was for her 5 years old girl.

Yellow Chicken

This design for the boy aged 3 years old.
Other than car, motorcycle, ball, train or truck what else for the boys. Ultraman? Ben 10? or yellow robot (transformers or widely known as bumble bee). As a fan of animals I choosed chicken. But, I got a feedback that black is not suitable for children. I should pick bright colour instead of black. Yup, I appreciate the comment.

However, it reminds me of a comedy series...CHEERS. It was aired in the late 80's. Well, I was born in the middle of 70's and now middle of 30's. For those who never heard the title. It was about Frasier and Lilith want to decorate their unborn baby room. Instead of chose pink for girl and blue for boy the couple decorated in black and white. Everything is in that colour. From painted wall, bedding as well as toys. The purpose is to stimulate the baby brain. I don't know it is true or not. I might have to do some research in the internet.

Butterfly Pillow  

This was a design for a girl aged 4 years old. The butterfly silhouette was a pattern from amybutlerdesign.com.  Actually the plan only inclusive  3 features which  were  butterfly, red polka dot and ruffles. However due to miscalculation of the size I have to sew the stripe fabric. Luckily, my friends like it.

These 2 set of pillows were my early project. I like to distinguish between girls and boys concept. But sometimes I sew that something that can be used by both by using green and yellow colour in the project.
